Washington University School of Medicine welcomes visiting medical students into the senior elective program. Electives are four weeks long and are available, space permitting, to full-time students in good academic standing who are enrolled in LCME accredited medical schools in the U.S. Students must be in their FINAL year of medical school and have completed all their required clerkships in order to be eligible for the program. Visiting students are limited to a maximum of three (3) four-week clerkships.

Visiting student elective applications are considered in order of receipt. We schedule our own students in May and will know availability after that date. You will be notified by e-mail when you have been accepted for a visiting student rotation. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to take phone calls about the status of your application. Please allow at least 30 days for applications to be processed.
