REMINDER: Parkview Avenue Closure / February 5th through February 14th

Beginning Monday, February 5th through Wednesday, February 14th, Parkview Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions.

To assure a reliable supply of high pressure steam is available to support the St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Southwest Tower buildings, repair and upgrade of the steam vaults have been progressing. Due to existing conditions the scope of excavation required at a Parkview steam vault has increased significantly and requires the complete closure of Parkview near Kingshighway (see attached map).

Until February 5th traffic lanes on Parkview will remain as they currently are. However, between February 5th and 14th access from Parkview to BJH-north campus buildings, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the CSRB will be via Parkview from Euclid Avenue.

Construction will be occurring directly north of the College of Nursing on a steam vault located in Parkview. During this entire time there will be no through traffic on Parkview at this location.

Valet Parking drop-off/pick-up will remain open with access from Euclid Avenue.

The final phase of this project will be completed in the spring when the outside temperatures are predicted to remain above 50°Fahrenheit.

Completion of this project will ensure the steam line which supplies heating to Southwest Tower and St. Louis Children’s Hospital will remain reliable for many years.

We recognize that the closing of these traffic lanes will result in traffic congestion at this location and apologize for any inconvenience. If you have questions or special needs, please contact Jim Niemeyer at extension 747-5673 / pager 407-4045.
