362-HELP
Access Control and ID Badges

Campus facilities are readily accessible during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. To provide for the security of campus personnel and to provide convenient access after hours and on weekends, the School of Medicine has installed an access control system.

This system was designed to allow access to anyone authorized to enter the School of Medicine after hours by using their photo ID badge to activate a computerized door lock. The Protective Services Access Control Coordinator is responsible for operation of the system.

The system which is monitored by Protective Services, reports who goes in and out of specific buildings or departments and at what times. Your photo ID badge is encoded exclusively for you by a magnetic strip on the back of the card. It must be protected from magnetic fields and be worn, not carried in your purse or wallet.

If your badge is damaged or will not activate the locks on doors that you are authorized to enter, contact Access Control, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by dialing 362-4813. Your photo ID badge, which must be worn at all times, is considered your key to the School of Medicine. Lost or stolen ID badges must be reported immediately so that access for that individual badge can be turned off. To report a lost or stolen badge, dial 362-HELP (4357).

The Spencer T. Olin Residence Hall located at 4550 Scott Avenue has accommodations for students in the medical or paramedical sciences. The entry lobby desk is staffed 24 hours per day by a contract security officer. Access beyond the lobby area is restricted to authorized residents and guests.

Badge Request Form: Badge forms may only be submitted electronically by approved requestors. See your department adminstrator for a form.

Scheduled times for taking photographs for ID badges:

Monday - Wednesday - Friday
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Medical Library Lobby, 660 S. Euclid

No prior appointment required for single requests. Large groups should contact the Access Control Coordinator to schedule a time for their group to be photographed.

Remember, a lost or stolen photo ID badge which has not been deactivated will allow access for the person who uses it, just as it would for you. Report a lost or stolen badge immediately. Your safety and security and that of other campus personnel is at stake.
